Monday Mashup! The Geisha’s Kiss

Good day, tea lovers!

Needing a boost in your tea routine?

Let us help you fall in love again with a brand new tea combo.

This Monday Mashup combines two of our favorite organic Zhi Teas: the romantic Cherry Sencha and feminine Jasmine Green.

Take a deep breath…and get ready. You may never be the same.

To make your lovely cup of iced tea, scoop 1 tsp of Cherry Sencha and 1 tsp of Jasmine Green into your Perfect Tea Maker. Then, pour 6 oz of hot water over the dry leaves. Take a big breath and relax. Steep for 3 minutes. Be sure to breathe in the incredible aromatics of this green tea combination.

While its steeping, find a large cup and fill with ice. When the timer goes off, pour another 6 oz of cold water into the tea maker. Dispense your steeped tea into your cup, over the ice. Stir to chill and combine. Take another deep breath…now sigh. Your iced tea is ready to enjoy.

What other kinds of green tea combinations should we try?

Monday Mashup: High Kick

high kick teaFor a spark of energy at the start of February, we whipped up a pot of our newly invented brew that we’re calling High Kick. This mix of  Zhi Tea’s yerba mate and ginger and lime green rooibos offers grassy notes and intensity from the yerba that complement the bold, bright and citrusy rooibos, resulting in a refreshing beverage.

Although we tried our concoction piping hot, we think it’d be just as delicious iced for the summer months. Try it straight or add a dash of agave nectar for a sweeter treat. Either way, we’re confident this Monday Mashup will entice your senses and delight your tastebuds.

Monday Mashup: Sweet Honey Peach

This week’s Monday Mashup was an utter success. We blended 2 parts Vanilla Honeybush herbal tea to one part Fredericksburg Peach black tea to make a smooth, almost creamy concoction that felt like a warm and decadent peach pie.

The softness of the vanilla in the herbal tea perfectly subdued the harsher qualities of the black tea, leaving you with just the flavors of peach, honey, and vanilla — a combination you can’t help but adore.

As we’ve found ourselves in the winter months, we tasted this tea blend piping hot, but we’ve got a sneaking suspicion it will be just as good — if not better — as a chilly iced beverage to cool you off next summer. Ah, the versatility of tea…just another reason to love Zhi Tea all year long.

What winter mixture should we try next? Thinking up something spicy for Christmas…

Monday Mashup: Red Desert Delight

Another Monday brings together some of Zhi Tea’s signature blends to create a unique new mix. This time, we’ve toned down the sweeter notes of Sweet Desert Delight with a straight Red Rooibos, to make what we’d describe as a more subdued sensation of the coconut, cacao, anise, cinnamon, safflowers and stevia flavors of the original herbal tea.

We combined the two teas at about a 1:1 ratio, and enjoyed the resulting beverage piping hot. For those who prefer a more traditional taste, with less of that sugary enhancement, Red Desert Delight is a great way to enjoy the enticing flavors of this complex rooibos.

Since both of these teas are of the rooibos variety, you can steep them in the same infuser, saving a bit of effort and leaving you with just one pot to clean. With some of our other Monday Mashups, in which we mix together a rooibos and a black tea, for instance, we brew each one separately and combine them just before serving so they can both steep for the necessary amount of time.

Monday Mashup: Dragon Rose

On the first semi-cool Texas Monday of the season, we tested out a steaming blend of our premium organic White Rose and Dragon Phoenix Zhi teas to create a flowery flavor that was light and refreshing – a good mix as a hot tea for early Autumn. At a 1:1 ratio, the florals in both teas complemented each other perfectly and resulted in a subtle taste and invigorating aroma.

Delicate, smooth, mild, and always satisfying, this blend is great for anyone who loves floral tea. Even if florals are not your go-to, the pronounced Oothu Estate white tea base of the White Rose tea and the highest grade organic Jasmine Pearls that comprise our Dragon Phoenix tea keep the florals from becoming overwhelming.

If you’ve been blending together Zhi teas, let us know how your experiments have gone, or request a review of a mix you’ve been curious about. We’re always open to new ideas for Monday Mashups and are happy to try any interesting combo!

Monday Mashup: Pink Doublemint

Monday MashupThis Monday’s organic tea concoction kept it cool with a combination of our premium Moroccan Mint and Hibuscus Mint teas at a 1:1 ratio. With Texas summer in full swing, we opted to ice our Monday Mashup, and the result was just as refreshing as we’d expected. The icy, palate-cleansing sensations of the fair trade mint tea balanced out the tart and sweet flavors of the hibiscus flower for a truly top-notch summer beverage.

We’re looking forward to blending the same duo together as Ausitn’s “winter” rolls around (we get one of those, right?) and expect that exciting hot/cold sensation as we sip our Pink Doublemint hot tea. So, with our next Mashup just a week away, what new Zhi tea should we cook up? You name it, we’ll try it!
