Menghai 7572 Ripe 2001 - 250g LIMITED!!
This tea sets the standard for Ripe (Shou) Pu-erh teas. We scored hundreds of these years ago and we're down to the last of the 2001. While some Ripe Pu'erh teas have a limited shelf life, this one just seems to get better with age. 7 grades of maocha (unfinished tea) are combined into these 250 gram bricks. The liquor is dark amber with good chi and the aroma and flavor have a fruity sweetness that lingers.
For folks who haven't tried a Ripe (Shou) Pu'erh, this is a perfect place to start. For the discerning taste, this is a solid win. The bamboo wrapper is imprinted with those big numbers "7572" which tells a little of its story. The blend was created in 1975, there are 7 types of leaves in the blend, and the cakes were produced at Menghai factory #2.
